The Last Ship, Fear the Walking Dead and Under the Dome. Each of these shows revolve around a post apocalyptic scenario. Some, begin just before and show the deterioration after, others just show post apocalypse. Despite where these shows begin, many have similarities, such as strife among the characters in the shows. Such as in Jericho, in the first episode alone people began to panic and fight over gasoline. In one of the following episodes, people started to fight over food and other supplies. In Under the Dome, the same thing eventually happened. In The Walking Dead and Revolution, you have gangs of people who will use brutality to get what they want. And in Jeremiah and The 100, you have essentially dictators running the show, who will either go crazy before or after getting power and use force to attain and/or keep power.
But one similarity in all of these shows, one common theme, is that people always come together to rebuild some sort of normalcy in daily life and that in numbers, they have a better defense against threats.
So what can we take away from these shows? What do we see in these types of shows to give us an idea of what life could be like if SHTF?
Let's block ads! (Why?)
