Seems pretty weird to my recollection of politics when I was still in that Bernie is the second most popular (and if you break it down by service, he was the #1 choice for Sailors and Airmen, was still #2 in the Army by a smaller percentage, and in the USMC was tied for second with Cruz). If you add up all the responses, you get the conventional wisdom idea that the military tends to run about 70% conservative to 30% liberal, and maybe that will be the way it ultimately boils down once it settles out into two candidates (if it does so).
(The 11% for Clinton is even weirder to me, but maybe just because on top of the rest of her record, I remember being an E-Zero -- maybe really an E4 by then, but pretty new to the game, anyway -- getting to go on "Clinton FTX's" one year during his presidency where we just went to the track park and did maintenance for days and days since there was no money in the budget for fuel to actually do any training for a while.
