New Long Island NY

I live on the island and honestly this is my first post. I have been trying to find like minded people who want to be prepared for the grim future that lies ahead. Anybody with aNY helpful info on the island Nassau or Suffolk I would appreciate hearing from.

I want to join in ensuring our rights as free citizens in a deteriorating democracy do not get trampled on any further.

Also I don't consider myself a pepper per say but am slowly starting to ensure my family is safe if we suffer any type of long term disater. Are there meetings any where where fellow Long Islanders can get together and compare notes?

I appreciate any advise. I'm south Shore Suffolk/ Nassau border and thank you in advance.
