!!!! While I do believe that the USA needs to be aggressively firm with China, my concern here is that the Chinese decide to bloody our nose a little, and our naval commanders are told by Washington to stand down.

The carrier John C. Stennis, two destroyers, two cruisers and the 7th Fleet flagship have sailed into the disputed waters in the last 24 hours, according to military officials. The carrier strike group is the latest show of force in the tense region, with the U.S. asserting that China is militarizing the region to guard its excessive territorial claims...."
(BTW, I wasn't quite sure which forum to place this. I almost went with "natural disasters and wars", where this stuff is often discussed, but at this point, it's merely a political statement, so.....)
