Indian media reports 56 killed in lightning storm.

"Fifty-six people have been killed by lightning in the eastern Indian state of Bihar over the past 24 hours.

At least 24 other people were injured when thunderstorms and monsoon rains lashed 14 districts, a state official said."

I thought they meant killed by fire started by lightning, but apparently it was the lightning itself. what the hey..? we've all heard of fatal lightning strikes but 56 people in one storm???
