I posted a thread on here a few days ago asking how to add a firesteel loop to a leather KaBar sheath. I took Goblin's advice and got some Chicago screws from Lowes, some scrap leather, and went to work. I'm pleased with the results. It was originally intended for my Old Hickory butcher knife, but I let the drill bit wander and now the posts are too far inward to allow the butcher to fit inside (as you see in the picture, I was distracted by my newborn crying and left the knife in the sheath while drilling so I took a little bit of the edge with it
). Fortunately my KaBar fits it, but it's a salvage that's so worn it's lost the 90* spine and won't throw sparks, plus it's a wee bit bent. Anyways, it's not my go to knife, but the sheath for it now fits my go to firesteel. It's the LMF Army model so it's .375 in diameter. Anyone think I can fit the Scout model at .25 inches if I get the leather wet? Thoughts?
Overall pretty happy though.
