Looking to expand my knowledge of the plants in my area. I was wondering if anyone had some books that they would recommend. |
There seems to be one or a couple popular foragers for each small region. They usually sell books or offer classes.
A good way to find them is through your local botanical society or arboretum. If they can't pluck out a name for you then they typically still can point you to books good for your local area in regards to growing them or their regional history. From that kind of book you can go the next step with the internet to learn what food or medicinal value they have. Check your local listing for arboretum or botanical society.
You might also want to self report your thread so the mods can move it to the foraging section where you could get more advice.
