? about windows 10 update

I received a free Acer laptop, was practically brand new though it was 2 years old.
I did a reset and it was great. Really nice to not be on a tablet.

Anyway I get a notification that I need to update and that windows no longer supports the installed version ( since 10-17.) No biggie I click the install tabs and am told that I don't have enough memory. Estimated memory used would be 10gb.

Does that sound normal?
What can I do?
Any other OS I can use?
