All in all a very nice, well made and HD
Poncho. Snaps and grommets on the edges to use as either a poncho or emergency shelter. Material is a heavy duty rubberized fabric. Not like regular sporting good store ponchos- much more robust feeling. Also much heavier than the typical rip stop nylon found in surplus ponchos. Size is rather conservative compared to my usgi poncho. The milspec poncho is rated at 90x56 inches and is genuinely voluminous. I can disappear under it and I’m 6’3” and 260lbs. The creek Stewart is more of a traditional poncho size and certainly adequate as such, probably down right roomy for somebody of slighter proportions. It is rated at 76x55 inches and when I were it hangs to mid thigh level. Certainly still useful for shelter building but don’t expect to have ANY extra room or to use as a bedroll unless you are very petite. I need to experiment with snapping two together as a shelter, which may work well.
All in all a very nice piece of kit but be aware the smaller size is noticeable, especially if you need to wear it over a pack or plan to build shelters.
