Family member credit card fraud

You can't get a card in a persons name.

However, she can open a joint account without his consent (marriage makes it implied authorization). Also, when the cards arrive, they both have their own individual cards with their names on them. They have been creating laws about spousal identity theft (because of this scenario), so you may be able to press charges. All you have to do is show they forged your signature, which most don't know is illegal (even by a spouse). On the financial side, the credit card companies won't give a damn, but you can sue the "ex"-spouse and be relieved of any debt, passing it over to them.

If a wife does this without the mans knowledge, he needs to divorce her. Nothing good will come of the marriage.
