Isn't the 2nd Amendment a Right?

The second amendment, being part of a compact, does not 'grant' rights to those not party to the compact. In 1787-1790, not all Americans could vote nor ratify the constitution, so it is not binding on "we, the American people."

People have Creator endowed rights to life and to defend that life as they see fit. (Hurrah for the republican form!)

Unfortunately, the bulk of the people consented to be citizens in the democracy, which comes with mandatory civic duties that abrogate endowed rights. What remains are privileges misrepresented as civil and political 'rights'.

So as long as the gun bans / restrictions are limited to "persons liable" and not the "people", no harm, no foul.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
