How to attach a flat pommel to this

I would like to attach a flat hammering pommel to the butt end of the following knife design:







I don't have access to a forge. What is the most economical but effective way I could go about doing this?



I can imagine the shape of the handle or parts I would use to do this but I wouldn't know what to ask for at Home Depot.



If you wanted to add a secure, flat pommel to this knife (esakabar), how would you do it?
