Nifty multi-purpose tools...

I think I posted about the 1954 Electrolux vacuum I bought a while back when I got irritated at having to replace wally world purchased 'disposable' vacuums about once a year. It's ridiculous the number of vacuums I've been through in my life.

Not long after I got the electrolux, I found a Kirby Classic III. The thing came with a Handi-butler attachment and a flexible shaft rotary tool. That sold me.

Last weekend we had to take the washing machine apart to repair (again) the suspension spring. This is the second time we've had to take the thing apart for this reason because the bracket that holds it is rusted out due to a previous leak.

We should have replaced that bracket the first time but, the rear view mirror is always cleaner than the windshield.

There's not an abundance of space behind the washing machine to fit a body and a drill back there but we were able to use the drill chuck on the Kirby rotary tool and fit it back there to drill out the bracket. So - we repaired the 20 year old washing machine with the 40 year old vacuum. lol

Today I'll be using the Kirby again to drill holes in some paint buckets for some garden pots and using the grinder attachment to sharpen some garden tools.

Anyone else run across other multi-purpose "nifties"?

Let's block ads! (Why?)
