Maybe someone who has been to a rally can weigh in on the security to get inside the event. The airplane hanger events should be damn secure from weapons if everyone had to go through airport security. I'm guessing it's a wave of a metal detecting wand like any other sporting event with secret service sweeps days ahead of the event. Tomatoes seem to be the weapons of choice.
