Gore-tex, Dry-Plus, Sympatex...

Looking at different rain gear and such I've noticed LOTS of options these days. Guess Gore's patent must have expired? Anyways, I've never had issues with gore-tex boots breathing well but maybe I dont have sweaty feet. It seems like none of the breathable parkas I've had breath well enough when needed (except for my leather silk lined bomber jacket). No experience with pants yet.

Actually, just purchased a pair of Dry-plus rain pants from Cabelas "bargin cave" but I haven't had a chance to try them out.

Looking at thoughts on these various fabrics, specifically comparing gore-tex, dry-plus and sympatex. Interested in sympatex because its used in the "Improved rain suit" which seems readily available for lower prices than similar civilian items. Open to thoughts! I've found gore-tex to hold up very well as my 20 year old gore-tex parka shell is still completely water tight and has been used/abused quite a bit over the years...

Let's block ads! (Why?)
