Human Waste Compost System

I wanted to talk with anyone in the community that has a human waste compost system on a homestead. I'm looking at land and need to decide where this will be a possibility and what types people are using. I'm doing a lot of research. I was looking at land in VT, but apparently since 2007 EVERYONE in the state is required to have a septic system for permanent living for more then 60 days of a residence. So I guess the so-called eco-friendly state would rather have you hide your waste underground or truck it to a landfill.

So who has a system in place, meaning they are living year round on a property and don't have a septic system ?

Also if anyone knows, which states can a human waste compost system be implemented and which cannot ?
