What do you see here?
The current political bruhahas and the way they are interpreted by both the news media and political watchers is no doubt going to divide the country in a way that few people will be left to honestly assess the truth. You'll be in one of two camps believing in a series of "truths" you can't prove.
If you are on the political Left, which includes most of the news media, you see a deranged and out-of-control president who is paranoid, delusional, unfit for office and alienating everyone around him with wild claims of conspiracies against him, even suggesting that the Obama Administration wiretapped the Trump Tower.
If you are inclined to believe this, you also believe that Russian intelligence agents somehow assisted Trump in winning the election by hacking into something - voting machines, polls, blogs, county clerks - something to change a slam-dunk election of Hillary Clinton into an unthinkable plurality election for Trump. Why, the fact that the President Elect's team had *talks* with Russians is a smoking gun that the fix was in and Trump is a Manchurian Candidate set up to do Vladimir Putin's bidding.
Or you could see the ink blot differently.
To Trump supporters and people on the Right, they see a novice politician encountering every dirty trick the Democrats and official Washington can throw at him to undermine and delegitimize his presidency, including slow-walking his nominees into office while Obama holdovers sabotage his efforts.
That belief comes to a head with revelations that the Obama Administration had been wiretapping Candidate Trump (possibly even President Trump) so as to further compromise and embarrass him before the public.
Many Democrats and media members claim Trump cannot prove this volatile charge, just like he can't prove his charges about illegal voters and vote fraud.
So what is Joe Citizen to believe? That the leader of the free world is an unhinged lunatic that needs to be swept from office as quickly as possible (which would just bring about President Pence, by the way, something conservatives should not fear if it were to happen).
Or do they believe that a crooked and underhanded Washington, that stood four-square behind a corrupt Hillary Clinton extending the Obama legacy, has just been exposed for all but the politically blind to see and realizes how desperately they need Trump to "drain the swamp" and take back the country for people who believe in the sanctity of law and the greatness of the American people?
It's impossible to agree with both.
You either have to conclude the President of the United States is a desperate, delusional madman or that the Government of the United States is out-of-control crooked and corrupt to the point of wiretapping political opponents for personal gain in a scandal that makes Watergate look like a baby shower.
Which is it, America? Look a little closer.
