Trying out a few items this weekend on bugout trip

This will be mine and my teen sons first bugout attempt. We have camped out many times but this will be our first mimimal bugout. We are also hunters and fresh water fisherman. We plan on building a shelter and roughing it more than usual. We will fish for food but im bringing rice and 2 mountain house meals in case we get in a bind. Im only bringing line and a few hooks and sinkers. We will find our own bait.

If any of you have any advice Id love to hear it. Ill see what works and what doesnt. We will walk about a mile to the boat launch on the creek and then about a half mile up the creek before we set up camp.

Ill boil water but also Im bringing my
Lifestraw and Lifestraw Go. I saw the Sampson in Walmart (see lots of you recommend Sampson) but had already invested in the Lifestraws. The creek is sandy bottom and has a good current and very little agricultural runoff.
