About that European army?

so france has come out calling for a european army.. controlled no doubt by the unelected leaders of the EU, and germany has agreed with france on this position, france saying they need to protect themselves from the united states.. so a few questions

first, how in the hell is europe going to pay for it when they cant even afford their 2% NATO spending as it is?.. are they going to raise taxes more when they are already teetering on the downside of the laffer curve (which suggests a point in taxes where revenue collected decreases as taxes go higher due to loss of jobs and growing expenses) are they going to cut everybodies pensions, welfare, free healthcare and free education, likely resulting in mass social unrest?.. face it, trumps got the EU by the balls and its about to collapse under its own weight

which brings me to the second concern.. is this really just for self defense, or is it to be used against EU members who maybe dont 100% goose step to the EU elites?.. countries like austria, italy, poland, hungary which have a more nationalist stance that macron has publicly stated equates to treason.. it sounds to me like the EU wants to aggressively take control of these places to me

and what are they planning to do with NATO?.. if youre a smaller EU country, especially those in close proximity to russia, whose military do you want aiding you? the united states military, or some magical fictitious EU army the EU cant even afford?.. it sounds like if anything, it'll fracture the EU, a lot of those countries would not be willing to hand their militaries over to france and germany to be used against their own people.. and the stark similarities between it and the USSR will certainly cause nations to want to leave

either way, it looks like the complete collapse of the EU is even closer than ever
