Can you I.D.current vehicles?

I live a quiet life,but have called 911 3 times this year.

I get up early,2-3 am.In SWFL,weather is nice,I like to sit out and have my coffee and a few cigs.Quiet residential area,so any traffic gets my attention.

1 was a drunk going thru mail boxes and clipping a parked car.Other 2 were blacked out,slow,breaking into cars.

They wanted a description,and maybe 30 years ago I could have told them the make/model/year pretty close.

Now I can only say the color,car or suv,2 or 4 door,or pick up.

They all look the same.Even in the daylight,if I don't see an emblem or name on it,it's hard to tell.

Just kinda rambling,but how good are you able to ID vehicles at a glance now?

Can you tell a 2016 silver Kia from a 2015 camary,in the dark.

I actually tried to pracice yesterday at work.looked in the parking lot at 4 suv's parked next to each other.I could tell the color,but the only 1 I could tell was an Audi becase of the(5?)ring emblems.
