Democrat House Investigations of GOP: Pound Sand?

So the Democrats want to investigate Donald Trump and the GOP through House investigations. Can’t the Republicans just Tell them to go pound sand and not show up for these dog and pony shows that have no teeth?

When was the last time anyone had consequences for refusing to testify or not showing up to testify in a House Investigation?
