swimming pool to escape wildfires?

Been watching news coverage of Ca. wildfires.Utter devastation.Drone footage shows nothing but footings and shells of vehicles,but I saw a few pools.

How survivable would it be jumping in the pool if you couldn't evacuate?

Not sure how the heat would affect just your face sticking out.Guessing the oxygen being used up or sucked out would be an issue,or smoke inhalation.Beats burning up I guess.
Just a random thought.
