When I joined this board I was hoping to learn tons of stuff, but the more I read into things, the more I realize that every other thread i read into (maybe I had just very unlucky picks) is twisted in a political direction and not even a neutral one (I like to have political debates!) but a heavily biased and ill informed direction.
When I joined I was actually expecting for people to be quite right wing and that's not the crowd I'm usually hanging out with by far. I also new that most people here are from the US and have a total different categorization of politics and mostly are extremly ... well, I'll use the word you like to use, instead of the one Im rather thinking of: patriotic.
But the heavily prejudiced opinions, actually quite shocked me nonetheless and I, quite frankly, almost start to regret having registered.
Still I'll give it a shot. Maybe this won't turn out as bad as i fear it might. If this actually turns out to be an open-minded, civilized discussion, with well-founded arguments, I'd love to contunie with other threads like this, asking for the various opinions of you I dont understand.
Enough with the apologies, though, and back to the actual title! So why do you guys hate russia so much?
I personally, was educated to have an open, tolerant mind to everyone and question every prejudice. I got to learn a lot of russians, who usually are quite great and interesting people, I read into russia's amazingly interesting history, I follow news concerning russia and ponder politics concerning it. I got to read and love russian literature, even in its beautiful and rich tongue itself. I'm even writing this while listening to Tshaikovskij's stunning music.
Sure, I know about the general bad placement of russia in the local, and even more so in the US media, but everyone can easily investigate behind that and discover the cheap slender tactics behind that.
I actually thought that it was just disgusting smear campaigns by the media and government, but I had a general faith in the public to be more insightful.
So please go ahead and state your opinions, but please stay all neat and objective and dont turn the tinder this thread provides into a flame. :)
