Mule Power

On the homestead the oldest living mule logger came by for a day of remembering how things use to be done. Big J was famous for his training and performance of his legendary mules. Mules ran line shafts for woodworking, grinding, you get the drift. A mule loves to walk for 8 hours and eats half of any comparable animal of equivelant weight. My question to Big J*** was; what would it take for a mule to spin a generator? He said a treadmill with a flywheel to start, gear reductions, and most probably hydraulics to reach the desired RPMS. It did not take long to get over our heads but we both were intrigued by the concept. Do we have any engineers, old loom fixers, mechanical folks that would like to expound on the out there thinking.
