My name is Fertig ("ready" in German). I'm old, 69, large family who will be coming to me in a SHTF setting. I have two residences, both in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Winter is by a lake in lowlands, Summer is the bug out destination at 6500 ft., we have water, defensible location on top of a mountain. I have a little dry food, an AR15 and a lot of potential problems.

I am in California on the California side of the divide, that is, east of Interstate 5. West of interstate 5 is Mexifornia and potential problems besides the usual SHTF scripts.

I am a fan of Mike Mah's (nostressmike.com) who talks about survival on all level of problems.
