First, I would think that all of this couldn't fall onto the shoulders of Jane Sanders, because $10 million is not a petty cash or small purchase. I would expect that the school's board would have had to approve of such a purchase. This may be a classic case of counting your chickens before they hatch.

A promise is not a guarantee. What they should have done was acquired the donations BEFORE entering into an agreement to purchase the 32 acre property.

Is it worth investigating the Sanders? Yes, if they really believe that fraud was committed and that Bernie did use his political power or favoritism to get the bank loan approved, by all means most definitely. But not if this is a politically motivated move.
