Magpul MOE or Midwest Industries handguard advice aluminum vs plastic

Looking for some advice. I'm in the market for a new handguard and have narrowed it down to Midwest Industries 17M
https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com...mi-17m-blk.htm

and the Magpul MOE
http://ift.tt/2ua7gNp

Both are M-lok. Magpul weights 6.8 oz., costs $28. MI weights 5 oz. costs $120.

The only thing I will be mounting to the rail is a vertical foregrip due to wrist problems. That's another reason why I wanted a lightweight handguard.

My question is how fast do the aluminum handguards heat up compared to the Magpul? What are the advantages and disadvantages of aluminum vs plastic? Personal likes and dislikes are welcome because you may like or dislike something I may not have considered.

The only thing that slightly bugs me about the magpul is that there is no top heat shield. On occasion I like to dump a mag or two and I'm worried about that top plastic getting hot and melting.

Also, I'm wondering how much wiggle the magpul with a vert grip will have. I'm not liking the rail on my A2 handguard moving around.

My barrel is a government profile, carbine length.

Thanks all!
