Job / Career Ideas For 23 y.o

Hello all!

Hopefully this is the right section of the forum to use.

I'll explain my past work experience and current situation to speed things up.

So, I'm not quite sure what field to go into next, and I have a lot of limitation. I don't have many people left in my social group anymore, so I figured I'd start searching and asking online.

About me: when I was 17, I enlisted in the Corps and was able to get a spot with an active duty infantry contract with a decent sign on bonus. Just before I was scheduled to graduate HS and go to P.I. They found I had a Non-problematic back issue. Anyways my contract was nulled, and there was years of waiting and attempts of re-enlisting in any branch that followed with no success. So Military and Law enforcement is out cause of this back condition, understandably.

During these years of waiting, and after accepting I had to change career paths, I went on do do a lot of physical labor jobs such as Landscaping, Contracting, Construction, General Contracting, and both metal and wood framing to keep busy and get by.

I started construction when I was 13 with my father, and went on to do landscaping and general tree services throughout highschool.

As a part time thing / hobby I bought, modified, collected and sold all kinds of vehicles like Jeep Wranglers, Cherokees, various trucks, and some muscle cars. Did that for about 7 years on and off for extra cash.

Afterwards, while planning a trip to do the Appalachian Trail I was offered a job at a local sporting goods store on the East coast while I tried out college. College wasn't for me at the time mainly due to financial reasons, and so I continued with the sporting goods store.

Then I started my own Handcrafted Furniture / Craft business and had that going for a couple of years but it never got big, a huge part because the area that I live in people figured they can just do it themselves.

I relocated from NY to HI for many personal reasons, but just before my trek across the country I had another extensive blood clot. First one was when I was 20, but I was taken off blood thinners cause it was supposedly a one time fluke thing. That's a whole other story though.

Anyways, I have physical limitations at least to other people and employers, I want to be smart for the future, and I am going to be taking blood thinners indefinitely, so I don't think a physical labor job is in the works for me. I didn't go to school due to the military situation and financial reasons, so a desk job isn't really an option for me at the moment. I keep trying to look for self training courses online but everything I find, it seems to be expensive to learn or I'm told that it's soon to obsolete.

I'm 23 years old. When I had my first clot at 20, I was instructed not to do any travelling, hiking, or anything physical anymore which kind of took my life away. I still did what I could cause I wanted to still keep up what I had a passion for. Now I'm in that same boat all over again, but I no longer have a craft business, or that spot at the sporting goods store.

My 'options' currently are not great as they only pay around $10hr and/or are part time or seasonal only. I'm not in a picky situation however and so I keep applying to delivery driver positions, retail positions, and other generic stuff, but I've had no luck so far. They tell me I'm either over qualified, under qualified, or don't respond at all.

Any recommendations? Or if you live in Upstate NY perhaps you have a direct option?

Apologies for the long post. I wanted to clear some stuff up to avoid time spent answers cans and cannots.

Thanks in advance!
