Comm Can Ver. 2.0 Underway

I am doing a second Comm Can Project

VHF/UHF (B-Tech UV-2501)
11/10M AM/FM (Anytone Smart CB)
GPS (Old one I had)
Internal 15cfm fan

I am actually 90% done and will upload some photos when I get some time.

The Can I used this time is a FLARE CAN. It is the same basic dimensions as a 50 Cal Ammo Can, but 9.5" deep.

It will be powered externally.

I really wanted to put a SSB 11 meter radio in, but the can just wasn't deep enough... and there hasn't been a small SSB rig since the Uniden PC122XL..

Besides, I'd like 12/11/10M capability...

I am mainly building it for a road trip I have up to Las Vegas next week, and there are some stretches between here and there where Cell coverage.... ain't...

It will use a 2M/70cm dual band mag mount antenna and a President "New York" 11 Meter Mag Mount on the rental and either Cig Lighter Power OR be wired to the Battery...
