Drunk co-worker at work today

Had a bad scene at work this afternoon. A co-worker who was obviously intoxicated ran a company vehicle into the side of the building. Then he was on a forklift and dropped a heavy shaft, before driving the forklift into a bunch of shelving.

So they bring him into HR which is across from me. And I could hear him sobbing how sorry he was and that he was going to get fired.

I really feel sorry for the guy, because he always seemed an overall decent person and I got along ok with him. Now he's going to lose his job and have this black mark against him.

Just a sad situation.
