Hello everyone,
We (wife, Golden and me) currently reside on the space coast in Florida. I am a 23 year AF vet and am still currently working. I believe everyone is in for a rude awakening soon. Whether it is Yellowstone, an asteroid, CME, pandemic, The Russian 2000v/m warhead, etc., the world is overdue for a major catastrophe. Of course most of the rest of the world either hates us or is envious and would like to take us down. That being said, I have realized for sometime that my little house is undefendable in a SHTF scenario. I am currently looking for land in Eastern Tennessee and will be making another trip up on the 4th to scout some more land.
I love America and would rather stay here and believe the Appalachian region there provide the best all around ability for protection and a general restart should the something happen.
I actually was looking for ideas on building a house and one of the links directed me here. I started reading trophy's comments and found the Raider Bill's 'documentary' on his journey to build his life house and I am hooked. I am finding more information than I can safely digest (keeping a sane mind, which is already debatable).
Anyhow, just wanted to say howdy.
