Was wearing my old pair of hunting boots from 15-20 years ago today to cut wood since I didn't have anything else at the cabin. Got me to appreciate the quality from that era compared to now. These were just a basic $100-120 wolverine hunting boot available at any sporting goods store but they are genuine gore-tex with real Goodyear welt construction and a quality Bob outsole. Can't even get many brand name glued together boots for that price today, with off-brand membranes none the less.
These haven't been punished TOO hard. One winter of logging, multiple hunting day trips and some misc winter activities including ice fishing. Only time they ever let me down was ice fishing all day in temps around zero degrees. Shoot, even went down to the lake today to clean them off and they are still completely waterproof!
