Starve dementia patients to death

This is another story I never would have thought could be real, but it is.
There's a bill in Oregon that seeks to give authority to medical care givers or patient representatives to deny food and water to certain dementia patients or mentally ill.

I've been blessed, and I've never been hungry. I'm not talking about hoping mom hurries up with dinner kind of hungry, I mean food insecure hungry.
From what I hear starvation and dehydration are two of the worst ways to die. Drowning or burning alive sound bad, but they're over in minutes, starvation is a long protracted way to end someone's life.
