World's First Head Transplant Set for December

Interesting times.

The procedure, obviously, is controversial, and the Dr. behind it, Canavero, has a mixed reputation.

It will require nearly 40 hours, over a hundred doctors, and cost around 11 million.

Plot twist: It was originally planned to transplant a Russian patient's (his body is dying due to a degenerative disease) onto a donor's body, however it's been changed at the last moment to take place in China, with a Chinese and the Russian patient, who's been waiting for this and planning it for years with Dr. Canavero, was told he will not be undergoing the procedure.

Reports are that China is backing this science heavily as well as the fact that there's less moral and legal red tape to carry out the operation there.
