They can be made from plastic straws and a cylinder that fits your scope tube. It works best to spray paint the inside of the straws flat black after assembling the ARD. You do this to absorb reflected light before it strikes the objective lens.
Anti Reflective Devices will cut down on the light entering the optic so you lose some brightness and clarity of the image.
They won't kill all glinting. A laser beam will reflect back to the laser source if it makes it to the objective lens of the optic being lazed.
They really do work for all other situations. Very cool little gadget.
