Accuracy tested a $450 psa ar15

Tested a fairly new $450 PSA AR-15 today at 65y (the longer ranges were flooded, so couldn't be used). It is a 16" 5.56 with 1:7 twist barrel, normal military type trigger pull, OD Green stock, forearm & grip, with a Bushnell red dot sight installed.

Ammo used and accuracy results were conducted on a very hot and windy day, using a target with no easily identifiable aiming points, so I just tried to center the red dot on the blank-faced head:

PPU 69gr Match = 1/2" groups (This ammo's accuracy can't be beaten for the price in every AR I've tried it in!)

Green Tip 62gr U.S. military = 1 1/4" groups

55gr U.S. military = 2 1/8"

There were no malfunctions of any kind using 30 & 40 round Pmags and a 20 round metal military mag.

As you can see, some ammo is considerably more accurate in this AR than others, which I've found to be normal with AR's.

Bottom line: This rifle was bought during a special sale, so others like it may cost +/- $50 more. Regardless, it is an accurate and reliable low-cost AR, especially if you are shooting ammo that your particular AR likes.
