Trip into town made me think.It was around 7:00 P.M. when I got to the local Walmart tonight. I intended to buy a few groceries. I was shocked when I found out right away that they were out of white bread and 2% milk or whole milk for that matter. They were out of all but the little cans of biscuits too. So I drove another 6-8 miles to another big super market.
One of my SHTF plans was to fill up with fuel and then drive the 15 miles to this big Walmart store right away before everything would disappear from the shelves.
After what I saw tonight I have started to reformulate my SHTF plans. Now I plan to go a few miles out of the way to stop at a small grocery store in the next smaller town. It might cost me a dollar more per item and another gallon of gas but I figure that I would probably have a better chance of finding a shelf that would still be stocked.
I still intend to do certain things right away. Get extra cash. Get extra fuel and then get extra food and any last minute supplies. In addition to other preparations that I have made ahead of time.
