What was left after much of it was given away. From one tree that is 4 years old (4 years in the ground). This was the last tree to be picked, as well. Many did not set well after last year's low temps in the teens, but it seems this particular type did very well despite defoliating after the cold snap and losing quite a bit of new wood.
This is what I wish I could do full time, grow food to give to people who don't have much to eat. But then again, it seems that people who don't have much to eat are a rarity in our culture these days. Maybe growing food to supply charities would be a better option. But it's hard to find charities that will take produce grown by an individual. I've found one locally, though.
Yes, that's a laundry basket. They're cheap, sturdy and make great containers when picking fruit or produce.
