Are you a P

In the past year. On two separate occasions i have had people who within the first conversation asked me directly if I was a prepper.

One was a contractor who came to the house to do some work. The second was a neighbor who I was meeting for the first time.

The reasoning behind both was assumably because I live in a rural area had bought several acres of land. I was caught somewhat off guard when asked this.And both times responded with "If I was would I tell you and laughed it off.

Has this happened to anyone else where someone you just met asked you this without having any reason to suspect as much? If so what did you say?
