Teaching your children:

TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN:
(a few things – off the top of my head)

The best thing a father can do for his children is, to sincerely love their mother.

Patiently demonstrate and teach them at a young age.

Encouragement, praise, laughter & hugs are helpful teaching tools

Teach them “NO” means “NO” & you only have to say it once.

Have them camp-out in your back yard, to get them use to it.

Take them camping at a young age & teach them survival skills.

Take them fishing & teach them how – as often as possible.

Teach them fire starting skills – early on.

Teach them to swim early on.

Teach them firearms safety early on.

Start them out on a single shot bolt action rifle, to teach them one shot – one kill.

Teach them to properly sharpen knives, hatchets, axes, etc,. early on.

Teach them how to tie & use useful knots early on.

Teach them to be decent cooks – early on.

Show them gardening can be fun & very productive.

Teach them to work for & save for things they want.

Teach them worthwhile back-packing skills early on.

Teach them 1st aid early on

Teach them how to maintain & store their gear.
