If this had been a couple of what we'll call Minnesota "ethnic majority" citizens with names like Bob or Bill, the list of charges would read like a takeout menu, and the leftist anti-gunners would be howling for a ban on anything and everything found in the vehicle. As it stands now, I'm surprised the article wasn't already pulled from the website.

That being said, prosecutors will go for the charges they think will stick, so if that's felony weapon possession for the brother with the prior convictions, so be it. On the other hand, if the aforementioned anti-gunners - this time either local or federal LE - don't push hard for a (re)conviction on those charges, it will just be further evidence that they aren't serious about upholding the laws already on the books.
