Only one I ever did was just to get wash water at an off grid deer camp I have. Got a well point, attached to treated pipe, and used a hand driver to drive the sections down. Only had to go like 20 - 25 feet, and was obvious when we hit water. Then attached a pitch pump - or is it kettle pump lol - hand pump.
