Couple years back, I did use the frame as a plant hanger. I think I had something like 12-15 hanging baskets on it.

Theres no fundamental reason why you couldn't use it as a greenhouse. Just remember that the small size means it will heat up FAST and cool down FAST do to a lack of thermal mass. Ventilation in the warm months via roll up sides or removable sides. During the cool season nothing more a space heater will do the job. Something like the radiator style electric or a small propane heater.

You could use real greenhouse plastic that has UV protection or even contractor 6 mil stuff from the hardware store to give it a try. Whichever you would choose, your DIY'r will most likely be more useful then those over priced "hobby" greenhouse kits from places like Harbor Freight and such. Mainly because you would have usable head space.
