Revolver vs Semi Auto

In handguns I've only ever had "wheel guns" and that's maybe not as long a time shooting revolvers as many folk on here but it was until recently 100% of my handgun experience.

Just recently though I started shooting semi auto, a Walther PPQ.

Ahhh...if someone had told me I'd have a very big amount of adjusting to go through I probably would have smirked and said "Hey they're both short bang sticks, the action & maybe the gun weight is different but not enough to shoot much different"

Like most things with firearms, you never stop learning, especially if you're trying to improve.

They were chalk and cheese and the target papers confirm it.
Same ammo, I do good with the revolver...but mind you I have 1000s of rounds thru it.

Semi auto after 20 rounds I was wondering if I was going to hit anything at all.
After 200 rounds I was starting to wonder if I was going to get any groupings at all.
300 rounds...yeah starting to hit more, but its not just because its new (I think) grips different & I think it recoils different, must do, sounds different. Revolvers have cylinder/forcing cone gas leakage, semi is different.

Who knows but think I really like, its more learning curve. Steep as steep gets at present.

Anyone else have troubles going from one to the other or get used to it after a while...and did it take a long while?

For me at least, its a challenge so added fun. I do remember with the wheel gun I was pretty terrible to begin with. Tried to get away with cheapest possible ammo...some days at the range I woulda been better offer with a lance to charge the target with
