Winchester 1200

I feel like I have the worst luck with firearms.

I purchased a Winchester 1200 in 12 gauge today, in hunting configuration with a 28" barrel and the Winchoke system. It seemed like a decent firearm for the price at the store, but I bring it home and find that apparently a bunch of people think it's a piece of crap and the worst shotgun Winchester ever made (including everybody on shotgunworld.com it would seem)? Obviously I'm going to shoot it later and see for myself, but I'd like to hear from some of you that have experience with this gun. Apparently one of the biggest problems it has is with the plastic magazine throat breaking, though I'm not sure if this is actually a big issue or one that the internet has played up to the max (like the Mossberg 500 plastic trigger guard complaints).
