Floor Load Capacity

Floors in buildings have limited weight bearing capacity. That is especially relevant for a wooden floor. So its capacity has to be calculated by a construction engineer, before loading it heavily with water containers, storage racks, books, building materials, furniture, food storage, etc. The center of a floor is its weakest spot.

Worst case scenario is a collapsing floor, killing or maiming people, and causing a fire or water leak, including the medical and financial aftermath.
