Help identify this USGI bag

Hey guys kinda random question. I have had this bag since I was in the army and I picked it up and it was already old but its been a useful little bag just not sure what the bag is exactly as it was made before my time I think.

the bag itself is about the size of a gas mask bag but not

bags about 10x8x4.5 inches

with two gusseted pockets on the side and one on the front in addition to the main pocket.

it also has a set of four small straps that I'm not entirely sure what they are for. never really used them

only reason I ask is I like it and want to get another so I can take it apart and make one out of waxed canvas for fun but don't want to ruin the little bag I have and I cannot find others like it
