I've learned a bit about coconut oil, and decided to add it to my LTS/rotation. I ordered three jars of Spectrum organic virgin unrefined coconut oil from Amazon. The three jars arrived and were all stamped with dates and times, all in September and August of 2017. I wrote Spectrum asking if these dates indicated manufacture date or best-by dates. The response said that the date was "...the recommended use by date."
What are the odds that the "product support specialist" was wrong? It seems odd that I would receive three jars that had just "expired" within the past month and a half.
In the event that they are, in fact, use by dates, should I return these? As I have read, this particular oil should store indefinitely, though some have said that only applies if it's stored in the freezer.
Thanks for your responses.
