So I use a variety of GoPros, 2X Hero2, Hero 3 Silver, Hero 3+ Black, Hero 4 Silver, Hero 4 Black and Hero 5 Black. And I've done a lot of video stuff over the years with my kids and outdoors stuff. Recently I've gotten into snorkeling and I still use GoPro studio a lot, even though it's discontinued I use it and it works great for basic editing to put together a show the rest of my family what we are doing on facebook. But with the snorkeling there is some more editing that needs to happen and simple protune doesn't always get it right. If you switch between 3 feet deep and 15 feet deep the colors, white balance and lighting change drastically. I've started using CyberLink PowerDirector 17, which is an amazing video editor but it takes forever to get my colors right and I have to spit the clip so many times and a lot more stuff. I've done some editing in studio first and then transferred over to powerdirector but those clips sometimes have issues, when you edit a file a couple times it changes how much you can tweak. I know I need to get better at PowerDirector, but I'm wondering does it make sense to edit in Studio first to get a baseline color I like and try to edit in PowerDirector?
What are some of you doing with underwater stuff? It's not like anything I've worked with before, especially the white balance, I've read and watched so much YouTube on this stuff but my videos are no where near what some of these guys are putting out with the same camera same settings. I know I've got a long road to go but it seems I've plateaued with my skills.
GoPro Video editing question.
