How is this for a first radio?

I have been kicking the idea around for years of getting a Ham radio. I'm studying for my license and looking at radios but as I'm still new to all this wanted to look for some feedback.

I'm looking for a radio I can setup in my house as a base station, to get started with. Then maybe move it to my car once I upgrade.

I know it might not be the best radio but as a starting point it doesn't look bad to me. I understand a large part of a good setup is a antenna and I will be working on that also.
